Say good bye to the Tampa 2

The Buccaneers waste zero time in working on the defense, and they have completely uprooted all traces of the Tampa 2. The Buccaneers will have a new scheme heading into next season, and that just might be what we have needed.

“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will hire Jon Hoke as their defensive backs coach, according to Fox Sports’ Alex Marvez. Hoke has a long history in the NFL and college football as a defensive backs coach, most notably with the Houston Texans between 2002 and 2008 and with the Chicago Bears, where he coached defensive backs from 2009 to 2014, which included a couple of dominant years under Lovie Smith before the defense immediately fell apart once he left. Last year, Hoke was the defensive backs coach and co-defensive coordinator for the South Carolina Gamecocks, responsible for the pass defense. While in Chicago, he worked with current Buccaneer Major Wright as well as free agent-to-be Chris Conte.” -Reported by Sander Philipse
