The Los Angeles Rams release Long, Cook, and Laurinaitis

Chris Long should get a few looks from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He would fit in well on our defense and be an instant upgrade. The fact that we have Lavonte David and Kwon Alexander already, Laurinaitis would not likely get a start, but could be great for position depth. Depending on his price tag. Some believe Tampa should take a long look at the TE Jared Cook. I disagree. Although ASJ is injury prone, he will most likely have a better season next year, and not be plagued by the injury bug. Cameron Brate has already proven himself capable when needed, so I think we have plenty of depth in TE department.

“The Bucs would do well to look at both Long and Cook as backups, as neither has produced up to the level of a starter recently. Long used to be a dominant pass-rusher, but has just four sacks over the past two injury-marred seasons. He’ll be 31 this season so he’s definitely close to the end of his career, but Mike Smith helped old pass rushers resurrect their careers before, most notably with John Abraham.”– Report by Sander Philipse
