Police in Philadelphia are investigating Nelson Agholor for the rape of an exotic dancer Thursday afternoon. The Eagles released a statement saying they are fully aware of the investigation involving Agholor and that the organization is in contact with him, and the proper authorities. However, refused further statement on the issue due to the sensitive nature of the investigation.

According to sources, a 27-year old dancer at Cheerleaders Gentleman’s Club contacted police and reported that Agholor had raped her inside the club. The Gentleman’s club is located a few blocks away from NovaCare Complex, where the Eagles had just wrapped up their three-day minicamp. Along with Agholor, there were at least two other unidentified Eagles players at the club when the incident took place. Police commissioner David Ross made this statement “There was an allegation made against one of the Eagles players of a sexual assault that was reported by one of the female dancers. Our Special Victims Unit is actively running on the investigation.”

Agholor was a first round pick by the Eagles last season, he was selected out of the University of southern California. He was limited to only 13 games as a rookie missing the rest with an ankle injury. He caught 23 passes for 283 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown was on a 53-yard pass from Sam Bradford against Buffalo in Dec.

Agholor was born in Nigeria but moved to Tampa, Florida at the age of 5, he later became a star football player for the Berkley Preparatory Buccaneers during high school in Town & Country, FL before heading off to USC.
