Tavaris Jackson Arrested in Florida

Former Seattle Seahawk and current free agent QB, Tavaris Jackson, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he pulled a gun on a woman, that sources report being his wife, early Friday morning. The alleged assault took place in a Resort in Kissimmee, Florida and the charge, at this point, is a third-degree felony.

According to the police report, Jackson was intoxicated and pointed a loaded gun at his wife and said, ” I’ll kill you.” A witness to the incident grabbed a hold of Jackson to stop him from shooting his wife.

 

 

 Jackson was visiting with family at the time of the incident and reports that his children were asleep in another room at the time. According to his wife statement, Jackson had been drinking and tried to kick in the bedroom door and said that he was leaving and began packing his belongings. Then he reached for a knife, and as the argument escalated, he pulled a gun from his travel bag, loaded it, and pointed it at his wife and said repeatedly, “I’ll kill you, I’ll kill you.” At this point, the woman reportedly grabbed a clothing Iron in defense.

During the arrest, Jackson denied having any gun, but a Black Ruger SR9C 9mm was found at the scene. Jackson later confessed to having the gun but stated he never drew his firearm, however, he did admit to saying he would shoot her. It is also reported that in rebuttal to him saying he would shoot her, his wife had replied, “You better be accurate because you ain’t accurate on the field.

Jackson was booked into Osceola County Jail before posting bond.
