New York Jets claim Seferian-Jenkins

Well, that didn’t take very long. Just three days after former Buccaneers tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins was released after getting his second DUI in three years, the New York Jets have claimed him off waivers.

Jenkins was known best for being prone to injuries and his off the field antics. In two seasons Austin played just 16 games racking up 604 yards receiving and seven touchdowns. The 38th overall pick out of Washington was one of Jameis Winston’s favorite targets.

Unfortunately for Jenkins, the Glazers don’t deal with not following the rules. Notable players not here anymore because of their ‘behavior’ include LeGarrette Blount, Aqib Talib, and (yeah we know), Josh Freeman.

The Bucs have depth at the tight end position. Cameron Brate had already been named the number one before the beginning of the season. Watch for Brandon Meyers, Alan Cross, and Dan Vitale to see some more playing time soon.

Hey, Austin, cheers.
