To kicker or not to kicker?

We lost many games last year because of missed kicks. We felt we needed to upgrade that position and invested a 2nd round pick in FSU kicker Roberto Aguayo. Just a few Paraphrased words from Bucs GM Jason Licht.

The Bucs traded a 3rd and a 4th round pick to move up into the 2nd round to draft a kicker who they felt was going to be almost automatic on anything under 40 yards and had the leg to kick up to 60 yarders. I highly criticized the move when I heard the details of the pick come in and realized what they had given up to get Aguayo. I was to say at the very least shocked by the pick seeing as how there were still very good DT and Safeties left on the board who would have been available with their 3rd and 4th rounders both positions of need for the Bucs. These players by the way who are now either starting or playing well for their respective teams who drafted them.

We instead have a kicker in place of two possible defensive starters. A kicker who just cost us a game? YES! Along with bad safety play and lack of pressure from our D-line. HM! Can you say IRONIC? Oddly enough the lack of pressure from our defensive line and the fact that our safeties continue to get burned proves one thing. We made a bad choice! Not in drafting Aguayo because he very well could eventually pan out, but in giving up all we did to get him.

WE ARE NOT A KICKER AWAY from winning a super bowl. It Sure would have been nice to have a couple of young talented defensive players to build around instead. You also very well could have drafted Aguayo with the later 4th or even possibly 5th rounder. Then you would have had DEF help and a kicker! Licht pressed the panic button in my opinion! Last time I check most Super Bowls have been won by teams with mostly FA kickers.

Who kicks for the Broncos again?
