Louis Murphy returns to practice

On Monday, wide receiver Louis Murphy was seen on the practice field for the first time since suffering a season-ending knee injury against the Washington Redskins almost a year ago.

Murphy was on the active/PUP list all through training camp this year before being put on the reserve list, meaning he couldn’t return to the field for at least 6 weeks. He begins a 21-day period where he can practice without counting against the 53-Man roster and can also be activated at any time to play, starting with the game against the 49ers. If at the end of that 3 week period the Bucs feel he is not ready to play he must be moved to the injured reserve list for the remainder of the season.

The 6’2″ wide receiver first signed with the Bucs in 2014 and has played in 17 games. He has since recorded 41 catches for 578 yards and 2 touchdowns. Here’s to hoping Murphy can get back to healthy and on the field, giving Winston another solid go-to target.
