Jacquizz Rodgers continues to impress

Jacquizz Rodgers made short work of the 49ers run defense, one that is considered to be the worst in the NFL. His 100-yard rushing performance in the first half of the game, helped Tampa come back from a 14-0 San Fran lead in the first quarter. Also, his performance and that of the Tampa defense helped spark a 17-0 Buccaneers run, allowing Tampa to enjoy a three-point lead heading into half-time.

Rodgers did not score any touchdowns in yesterday’s contest but did manage to shred the ‘9ers defense for 154-yards on 26 carries, marking his second 100-yard game since getting the starting call. Rodgers’ performance could not come at a better time, as Tampa was in a dire situation having both of their primary running backs out for an extended period of time.

Many speculate that Rodgers’ performance was only sparked by poor opposition, and will have to prove himself against a stout run defense. He will get his chance to do just that next week, as we face the Oakland Raiders at home. If Rodgers can continue his 100+ yard streak then it will likely work in Jacquizz’s favor when it comes to the tough decisions that will be made in the offseason.
