The NFL has fined Jameis Winston a sum of $9,115.00, on Friday, for head-butting linebacker Justin Durant. The sum of the fine is proportional to an NFL players first offense.
Winston let his emotions get the best of him and understands that he cannot allow that to happen again. He head-butted Durant because he did not like the manner in which Doug Martin was brought down by the line backer.
The end result of that head butt was an unnecessary roughness penalty that had Tampa in a second and goal situation on the 28 yard-line. Tampa settled for a field goal in that 26-20 loss.
