Tampa Bay needs receivers.

Tampa has one of the top receivers in the NFL, but he needs help. Adam Humphries is a talented receiver and great in the slot, but I do not believe he has what it takes to be the number 2.  Tampa needs a speedy receiver one who can blow the doors off of the defense and catch up to those crazy overthrows from Jameis Winston.

Right now the free agency isn’t chock full of receivers that can fill our needs but there are a few. I’ve seen many say Alshon Jeffery, and yes, he would definitely fill our empty number 2 position, but I honestly believe he returns to Chicago. I do like Cordarrelle Patterson and made mention of him to some of the Bucsreport staff, but the feeling didn’t seem to be mutual. I, personally, believe that Patterson would be a great fit in Tampa and would quickly become a serious threat if he is available that is.

Tampa has already grabbed a receiver from the CFL and he was beast mode, to say the least, while he played in Edmonton. Whether or not his talents transfer to the NFL with him, is still up in the air, but his addition to the futures contract definitely shows Tampa is on the hunt for Mike Evans counterpart.

With Louis Murphy gone, Vincent Jackson likely to be done with the NFL, and Cecil Shorts’ injury, severe enough that he may not return and if he does, he’s not likely to be back to his original form.

Tampa has the 19th pick in the draft and I have seen many screaming for the Bucs to use that pick to pick Doug Martin’s replacement. I think those people need to slow down. Of course, Licht is no fool and he will certainly pick the best available player with that selection or hell he may even trade it off, but I’d think the smart money is on a wide receiver like Corey Davis, John Ross, JuJu Smith-Schuster, or hell we may even see another Mike Williams.
