No “Cooking” in Tampa Bay!

I keep hearing it, over and over again that we need to trade up for Dalvin Cook. What if we had Dalvin Cook? And how Dalvin Cook is going to be amazing in a Bucs uniform.

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but it is just unrealistic. As a person who has watched him play for the last 4 years (I am a Gator fan, believe me.. he’s killed us) I have seen this talent, and I do believe if by some miracle he falls to 19, then you should consider it. Right now, we do have questions at the running back position. Doug Martin is serving a suspension, and he may not even be in uniform for the Bucs next season. Jaquizz Rogers had a decent year. I believe, if given the opportunity, he can be a solid number 2 for this team. Charles Sims was injured most of the campaign, and his future with the team is in doubt.

I have no reason to believe that Dalvin Cook isn’t a top 10 player, so that’s mainly why I’m thinking the way I am. Sure, it would be awesome to have Jameis and Cook reunite. But there is way, way, way more pressing issues that the team needs to address (OL, WR, Safety) before even diving into a running back.

My opinion at 19, is going to be WR John Ross from Washington. Ross had a good year, with 1,122 yards and 17 touchdowns on 76 catches. He could be a compliment to this team. You have Mike Evans, who is the star. Cameron Brate who needs to work on his blocking, but is a TD threat for Jameis. Adam Humphries, slot receiver. Lastly, you would have Ross. Yes, he is 5’11, which is a concern, but I believe he would fit well into the scheme that Dirk and company have set.

All of this is speculation, but I don’t think Cook will be happening here in Tampa. Although, we did draft a kicker in the 2nd round last year…I guess anything can happen!
