Could Mike Glennon be heading to the desert?

The Arizona Cardinals past season was a major disappointment to most fans. David Johnson was really the only bright spot due to the volume of carries that he received.

Carson Palmer is another year older and he is not getting any younger. The defense is still very good with Patrick Peterson and company and Larry Fitzgerald announced that he is going to return for one more year in 2017.

But what will Bruce Arians do about his aging quarterback?

One option to look at is Mike Glennon. Before the Jameis Winston Era started in Tampa Bay Glennon was a very good quarterback. He stands at 6’6 and around 225 lbs, and he could be a match made in heaven for the Arizona Cardinals.

Glennon’s rookie season, as a starter, he threw for 19 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He did this without any shade of a top receiver. Glennon has a huge arm but was just not in the plans for the future of the Bucs.

There has always been mutual interest between Tampa and Arizona, but the two could never seem to get a deal done. The Bucs hung on to Glennon in case of injury to Winston, but now when he hits the market Glennon should be a highly coveted commodity. Especially considering the draft doesn’t seem to have much to offer in quarterbacks.

We wish you well Mike, but one piece of advice stay out of the NFC South because Tampa Bay would hate to have to beat you twice a year. Go Bucs!
