It’s not a big shocker that this happened once Nick Folk was signed so when John Lunsford was placed on waivers Monday, no one was surprised. The upcoming competition for starting kicker is currently between Roberto Aguayo and Nick Folk.
23-year-old John Lunsford was signed by the 49ers in 2015 as an undrafted FA out of Liberty University. HE was waived last year before the start of the season and was not on a team until Tampa signed him to future reserve several months ago.
