Greg Auman of The Tampa Bay Times caught Jameis Winston as players were reporting to their offseason conditioning and the question of Dalvin Cook was brought up. Jameis Winston is high on Dalvin Cook, in fact, he is downright excited for his former running back.
However, Jameis does not believe that Cook will be there at 19th when the Buccaneers pick. As a matter of fact, Jameis believes that Cook is a top 15 pick. Jameis will follow Cook’s draft situation as he would for any of his former teammates, but he also understands that he cannot worry about outside stuff and has to stay focused on his job.
Of course for any former FSU star, it would be a great thing for them to be reunited with another former teammate or just another former player from their college and Tampa has drafted FSU players high in the draft recently. Whether or not Bucs GM Jason Licht is truly eyeing a running back at 19 or not is unknown, although signs do indicate the possibility, we will just have to wait and see.
