Bucs Load Up on Offensive Weapons

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had grabbed many new toys for Jameis Winston this offseason and grabbed even more during the draft. Surely our gunslinging QB is smiling ear to ear. But post-draft, there were some UFDA signings that surely will make Jameis smile even more.

After the Draft, the Buccaneers signed 14 new undrafted free agents and one of them is a former receiver Jameis worked with in college. Jesus “Bobo” Wilson and many FSU fans believe that Wilson could bump Bucs third round draft pick, Chris Godwin, right out of the picture. Winston played with ‘Bobo’ for two seasons at FSU and landed 45 passes to him.

In Wilson’s four years at FSU, he caught 133 passes for 1,562 yards and 8 touchdowns. Wilson also led all FSU receivers, last season, before suffering an injury to his right foot. Wilson had also served as a part-time kick returner and punt returner in which he returned one punt for a TD.

‘Bobo’ Wilson stands 5’9 and 189lbs and ran the 40 in 4.57 seconds at this year’s combine. In the addition of rejoicing Winston, he also joins former teammates Roberto Aguayo and Javien “the Walk on King” Elliot.

Many FSU fans know him as a first down champ. During his time at FSU Wilson was the go-to guy for first downs and clutch catches in times of need. With his sub-par time at the combine and size, many teams were scared off and did not want to tag along with his injury. The Bucs may have gotten themselves a gem that no one saw coming. In today’s game, it is always room for a guy that can move the sticks.

As for bumping out the third round pick out, it will most likely not happen, However,  Freddie Martino, Bernard Reedy, and Josh Huff may want to come with their A game because Wilson will make a strong push for that fifth and final WR slot.
