In mid-April, Murphy was arrested while going through Tampa International Airport with a loaded handgun in his back pack. After being arrested he stated it was an honest mistake and that he was sorry. According to Murphy, he placed the weapon in his backpack to keep it hidden from his daughter and had forgotten that it was in there.
Murphy does not have a concealed carry license and literally dodges a bullet with the dropping of this charge. Soon after his arrest, he apologized to his friends, his family, and to all that were inconvenienced by his mistake. Louis Murphy is a free agent and missed all of last season with a torn ACL.
