Tampa signed one of last week’s tryout players, rookie defensive end Evan Panfil from Purdue.

Panfil played four seasons with Purdue recording 75 total tackles, 9 sacks, for loss. Most of those stats came from his final two seasons at Purdue.

In his final season ith Purdue, he co-lead the team with 5 sacks and lead the team with 12 tackles for loss.

The 6’4 280lb defensive lineman made the cut from mini-camp and will now head to training camp where he will compete for a spot on the team for preseason.

The likelihood of Panfil making the 53 man roster will depend on solely on his production, as we are pretty stacked at the defensive end position, with Robert Ayers, William Gholston, Noah Spence, and Jacquies Smith.

An interesting side note to Panfil’s addition is that he and Kevin Pamphile, both went to Purdue and have similar sounding names.
