During an interview with NFL Network, Bucs veteran left tackle, Donovan Smith, stated that rookie WR Chris Godwin is “Doing his thing.” Smith also noted that Godwin is an “Attention to Detail Guy” and that if you put anything in the air near him, he will go get it.
Godwin is already earning some respect on the practice field as the guy who never gives up on a play and puts in a great amount of effort on every play.
Donovan Smith also shared that he has never seen a guy catch as many tipped balls as Godwin has. Not even in college.
Both Godwin and Smith came from the same University, Penn State.
If Godwin continues to prepare and produce, the way he has so far in Camp, then he can definitely become something great for the Buccaneers.
Godwin was selected in the 3rd round of the 2017 NFL Draft. In three years, at Penn State, he recorded 154 receptions for 2,421 yards and ‘Touched The Chicken Box’ 18 times (scored).
