The Cannons Will Fire Again!

The win on Sunday against the Bears was more than just a great win, it was a statement. None of the starting units have played in close to a month, due to their week one game being postponed because of Hurricane Irma.

The Buccaneers were finally able to play a football game. The home opener was a success, not only for the Buccaneers, but for the city of Tampa and their fans as well. The blow out was a statement that despite facing extreme adversity, we as a city will overcome. And overcome is something we definitely did.

As great as our offense played and as impressive as our defense was, there was one thing missing. The Cannons did not fire. Flying high on adrenaline many had not noticed the cannons did not fire, but later realized that something indeed was missing.

Speculations from Hurricane Irma destroyed the cannons to accusations that Josh Norman made a stink over being fined for his bow and arrow celebration by throwing the Buccaneers’ cannons under the bus. One of those speculations may in fact be true. It was indeed Hurricane Irma that caused water damage to the electrical systems causing the cannons to not fire.

As disheartening as it was to not hear the beloved cannon fire, it should lighten your heart to know that the cannons will be in full report during our next home game on October 1st against the Giants.

As for Josh Norman throwing the Buccaneers cannon fire under the bus by calling it a hostile act, rest easy as the issue was not NFL related and Josh Norman needs to mind his own business.
