Buccaneers Re-Sign Alan Cross To Practice Squad. Release Running Back.

The Buccaneers had waived Cross to make room for Doug Martin’s return, but Cross didn’t go very far. On Tuesday, Cross cleared waivers and Tampa was able to re-sign him.

Last year, Cross was singed by Tampa as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis. His contract was for 3-years and $1.62 million. Cross was waived prior to the 2016 regular season, but was quickly signed to the practice squad before becoming part of the active roster. He has played in three games this season for the Buccaneers, hauling in 2 passes for 11 yards.

In order to make room for Cross, the Buccaneers have opted to release running back Russell Hansborough.
