Bucs fans have impatiently been waiting for the return of Doug Martin from suspension, and Martin did not disappoint during his Thursday Night Football performance.
Even though the Buccaneers lost to the Patriots Thursday night, it was fun to watch the return of Martin to the game, he looked fresh and ready to play, and seemed faster than ever. He rushed 13 times for 74 yards, in his first game since last December. And with just about 8 minutes left before the half, Martin had an 11-yard touchdown run that after further review, was overturned due to his knee going down at the 1 yard line. However, in the next play, Martin leaped over his opponents for the touchdown, giving the Bucs the lead, 7-3, against the Patriots. However, due to other playing issues, as well as persistent kicking woes; the Patriots did come back in the second half to take the lead and win the game 19-14, despite the best efforts of Martin.
Overall, Martin played remarkably well, and it’s good to have him back in the game!
