The Buccaneers have been courting a couple of defensive ends over the last week and recently decided to sign rookie DE Patrick O’Connor to the practice squad.
O’Connor was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 7th round of the 2017 NFL draft. He was released by the Lions back in Sept. to make room for OT Storm Norton.
The rookie DE played at Eastern Michigan for 5 season, but missed of all of 2015 with an injury. However, despite missing all of 2015, he still managed to record 20 sacks, 166 tackles, 7 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovered, and 7 pass defends.
The 6’4 276 lb 23-year old defensive end has yet to appear in a regular season game.
