Keys to a week 10 victory

The Buccaneers are on a 5 game losing streak that they hope to break in week 10 vs the Jets. They will have to do it without Jameis Winston (injured) and Mike Evans (suspended). Here a few keys to the game that will bring the Buccaneers a win on Sunday.:

DEFENSE

The defense is one of the biggest keys to the game to get the Buccaneers a win. The Bucs defense has one of the worst, ranked defenses in the league, so their focus and great effort will go a long way to winning a game. In the Bills game we had the opportunity to win the game, but just couldn’t slow down McCoy. They allowed a 3rd down play break for a big gain. The defense needs to communicate more and make open field tackles.

BACKUPS

This game Ryan Fitzpatrick and Chris Godwin start with the loss of Winston and Evans. We need good solid production from both of them. Ryan used to play for the Jets, so this game has extra special meaning to him. Ryan is a 13th-year veteran who is out to prove he is worth being the backup quarterback. Godwin has mainly been a special teams player this year, but coach Koetter said: “They drafted Godwin believing he could initially start.” Another player that will need to step up is Peyton Barber. Last week Doug Martin couldn’t get anything going so coach Koetter switched things up by bringing in Barber. Barber finished the day with 34 yards on 11 carries. If he can come in a couple downs and give the backfield a change of pace, it could help Martin and the offense.

PLAYCALLING

Coach Koetter’s playcalling has been just TERRIBLE this year. He always starts the game out pretty balanced. If the Bucs get down one score, it’s like Koetter just says screw it and throws the book out. We need to stick with the game plan and still run the ball even if the run game is struggling. If we can just keep the secondary guessing, then it could really open the passing game.

We need to come together as a team and forget about the last five games and start over. Yes, playoffs are probably out of the question, but let’s just turn this season around and finish on a positive note. Those are some key points to help us get a much needed W. We don’t want to be the NFC Browns! LET’S GO BUCS!
