Who should start?

At this point in the season, who is the better option, famous Jameis or ‘Fitz’? Although there is little question Winston is our future, but in my opinion, Fitz is the present. He is simply the better choice right now.

Where would that leave Jameis? Should the Buccaneers shut him down for the remainder of the season? Let him continue to rehab? I don’t know what they correct answer is. The last thing the team needs to do is take away Winston’s confidence and possibly damage his future with team.

This team badly needs upgrades at many positions. The coaching staff also needs to game plan much better than they have, specifically, quit being so predictable on the offensive side of the ball.

Saying this season has been a let down would be an understatement.

This season is over and I do not think it’s wise to throw Jameis into the fire again for a lost season, we shouldn’t risk his health over a few meaningless wins this season. Koetter already raised some eyebrows when he played him hurt and he would be wise to be more reserved when it comes to inured players.

It’s not all the offense however. The defense has been very up and down all season, and although they have played better lately, there is no indication the defense has turned the corner. We give up too many first down runs and the d-line doesn’t seem to garner a steady pass rush. This team also seems to lack having or implementing blitz packages. It seems a scheme change is in order this off-season.

We have the talent, what we need are coaches that have some urgency and don’t sleepwalk on gameday.

Whether Koetter, Smith or both are still together next year, the need to get on the same page because the tandem hasn’t given the fanbase any hope they can work as a cohesive unit.

I genuinely feel it’s time to shut Winston down. Let the kid heal, and address the major holes on the team during the off-season and hopefully, by this time next year, we will be talking about the playoffs and not the 2019 draft.
