Could there be a Gruden return on the horizon? – By BucsFanFromTN

Our beloved Buccaneers have had a disappointing 2017 season, including last week’s humiliating loss to our biggest rival, the Atlanta Falcons.

It’s becoming more likely that Dirk Koetter is going to be shown the door after this season and the name that pops up most often to replace him is Jon Gruden. It’s not just in Tampa that Gruden’s name has been coming up, his name has also been associated with my hometown team here in Knoxville, TN, the Volunteers. Before you freak out, I know there is no way of a Gruden era for my Vols.

I believe if Gruden were to coach again, it would be in the NFL, and a second stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is a distinct possibility. I

t’s obvious that Gruden is very happy doing Monday Night Football, but on more then one occasion, he has mentioned that he would love to coach again, but he’s always added the caveat, ‘probably not anytime soon’.

I am a Gruden fan, but the biggest con to hiring him as coach may be how his team’s performed after winning the Lombardi trophy in Super Bowl 37. Those teams were at best mediocre, and although there were two additional NFC South championships, the Bucs were got past the first round of the playoffs.

The pro in hiring Gruden is pretty obvious. The team is built to win now with good, young talent, and of course, our franchise quarterback, famous Jameis Winston. Winston’s game would fit well with Gruden’s system.

I think the good news is that there are still five games left in the 2017 season so there is still hope for Koetter to save his job, but as the weeks go by, and the losses keep piling up, the Glaziers may very well need to contact the Gruden Hotline.

I would personally love to have coach Gruden back at the helm, steering the ship at One Buc Place.
