McCoy Makes 6th Pro Bowl – By Kyle Riddle

Bucs DT Gerald McCoy has been named to his 6th Pro Bowl this year, once again McCoy has put up good numbers. Even as the rest of the defense imploded, again he had another good season. As the rest of the defensive line collapsed around him, McCoy managed 6 sacks on the season, leading the team in that category. He also managed 47 tackles.

McCoy has made every Pro Bowl since 2001 and has been a staple of the Bucs defense since being drafted in 2010. He is constantly creating havoc in the offensive backfield, and no other DT in the league is quicker off the snap. At 6’4 and 300 pounds, he has also turned into an excellent run stuffer as well as being a pass rusher.

The only thing left for McCoy to accomplish is winning a championship. Next year GM Jason Licht must get him help on the defensive line. McCoy needs help, and finding a dominant edge rusher is a good start. If Licht can do that, maybe McCoy will get that Super Bowl victory he so badly wants.
