When the new D-line coach was offered the opportunity to coach the Bucs D-line he jumped at the chance. Buckner has said he wants to bring the Bucs D-line back to its glory days, back when the biggest stars on the team were the D-linemen.

I’m sure Bucs fans remember those days he speaks of. The days when our D-line stuck fear into opposing QBs. Players like Warren Sapp, Simeon Rice, and Booger McFarland would completely overwhelm Offensive Linemen. With Sapp and Rice on the same line, both excellent pass rushers, it was almost unfair.

Buckner has had an extremely successful career as a D-linemen coach and former player. Coach Dirk Kotter stated “Over the years one of the things that really stood out to me was Brentson’s ability to get the most out of his players.

Buckner joins the Bucs after 5 seasons as Arizona’s D-line coach. In 2016 Arizona, led the entire NFL with 48 sacks. Buckner will definitely be a much-welcomed addition to this coaching staff.
