Cleveland Rocks? – Daniel Beebe

The City of Cleveland has been the butt of every joke for the last decade. The Indians, Cavaliers, and the Browns have collectively broken the hearts of many fans over the years, but that is a thing of the past. The Cleveland Cavaliers are NBA Champions. The Cleveland Indians made it to the World Series. Wait for it…..the Cleveland Browns have traded for Tyrod Taylor and Jarvis Landry. Plus they own the 1st and 4th picks in this year’s NFL Draft.

Can the Browns actually be making the right moves? They have a proven NFL quarterback in Tyrod Taylor. He actually has weapons to throw to in Josh Gordon, Corey Coleman, and Jarvis Landry. If they draft Penn State’s Saquon Barkley the offense could be dangerously good. The Browns’ defense is already oozing with talented athletes. The Browns could land Barkley and offensive lineman Quenton Nelson. They actually have an offensive coordinator that has led the NFL’s best offense in Todd Haley. Will the Browns continue to make moves before the draft?

One trade that ESPN thinks would be a win-win situation is an inter-divisional trade between Pittsburgh and Cleveland. The Steelers would receive the 1st and 4th picks from the Browns. Cleveland would receive RB-Le’Veon Bell. It is no secret that Bell wants to be paid like a top-tier running back. The Steelers refuse to pay him, as such. This is the second year Bell will be playing under the franchise tag. Pittsburgh could draft running back Saquon Barkley and Rosen, Darnold, or Mayfield in the draft. The Browns can open the vault for Bell. He would instantly make Cleveland a playoff team.

What will happen before the April 26th NFL Draft? The Browns could be taking offers for the first pick, but we will have to wait to find out. Cleveland could be the next star studded sports city if they could land Le’Veon Bell. They already have superstars LeBron James and Francisco Lindor. Keep it up Cleveland we could be looking at a “worst to first” situation.
