Another running back the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should consider using their second round pick on is Nick Chubb out of Georgia. Chubb has the mindset of a premier ball carrier at the top level. At 5’11” and 227 lbs he also has the desired size.

Image result for nick chubb nflNick Chubb is an instinctive, natural running back who runs fast and aggressively to the hole. He has great vision and runs physically punishing for the defenders trying to tackle him. He has proven over and over again with the Georgia Bulldogs that he is capable of handling a big workload, wearing out defenses and controlling the game. In 2015, he suffered a major knee injury as he tore his ACL. He returned from that injury nicely in 2016, rushing for 1130 yards and 8 touchdowns. Chubb had an even more successful 2017 season, as he ran for an average of 6.0 yards per carry and a total of 1345 and 15 Touchdowns. Even though he was forced to split carries with another great running back in Sony Michel, he was still able to put up such great stats.

Nick Chubb is very hard to tackle, as he shows elusiveness in the open field. His physical running style and the fact that he constantly keeps his feet moving after contact make him a great short-yardage running back.

On the downside, Chubb will need some extra work as far as pass blocking and working as a Receiver out of the backfield are concerned. Also, his knee injury seemed to have taken away some of his speed, as he only ran a 4.52 seconds at the 40-yard dash and did not seem to play as fast in the last two years as he used to be.

Nonetheless, Nick Chubb would certainly be a great addition to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round. He clearly possesses all the tools necessary to become a starter in the NFL quickly.
