In Tampa Bay, Gerald McCoy has been a star not only on the field, but in the community as well. The former 2010, 3rd overall, first round draft pick is now being recognized for his community involvement by Pop Warner with the “Inspiration To Youth” award for the second time later this month.

In fact, he is the only Buccaneer player to be given the award twice per Tampa Bay Times Greg Auman, “McCoy, who has been to six straight Pro Bowls, is the first-ever two-time winner of the award, having also been honored in 2012. The banquet, to be held May 26 at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort, will recognize about 800 of the 325,000 participants in Pop Warner’s football, cheer and dance programs.”

It is priceless to have a household name like the Bucs McCoy to receive such a reward, let alone twice. McCoy, as shown by the award, gives kids an outstanding role model to look up to on and off the field. His investment in the Tampa Bay community is sure to pay dividends down the road by hopefully raising up the next generation of positive role models like McCoy and so many others.
