NFL: Predicting the NFC South

0

Each season, experts try to do their best in predicting things that may happen in the NFL. This starts with predicting the division winners, award winners, playoff teams, and even the eventual Super Bowl Champion. Over the next four weeks, we will do our best to line up each division. Next up is the NFC South.

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers are a team in turmoil. They have a QB who cannot keep his hands off women. A head coach should have never been a head coach. Finally, their defense is questionable. They did make some moves this offseason to make their defense better. Thus, we will have to see if it works. Until they prove me wrong, they are fourth in this division. Record 6-10

  1. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers are an interesting team. They have a solid QB in Cam Newton. They have one of the best LBs in Luke Kuechly. It will be interesting to see if they are able to replicate the somewhat surprising season that was 2017. I am not sure they did enough this offseason to keep them at or near the top of this division. Record 9-7

  1. Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons played in one of the worst Super Bowl debacles in the history of the game two years ago. If they can keep Julio Jones healthy, they should score enough points to stay near the top of this division. It will be interesting to see how they use Calvin Ridley. I think their defense is good enough to win them some tougher games. Record 10-6

  1. New Orleans Saints

The Saints are on a mission. After the heartbreaking loss they suffered in Minnesota, there is only one thing on this team’s mind. Super Bowl or bust. Drew Brees is entering the final stretch of a wonderful career. Nothing would be better than to win another ring. The selection of Marcus Davenport is interesting. We will see if he can give the Saints that pass rush that he was drafted for. Record 12-4

2018 I think the NFC South becomes a two-team race. With one team flexing their muscle early. The Saints are the team to beat. The rest of the division better bring their A-Game when playing them.
