Conte In No Danger of Losing His Starting Job

There may be competition at Safety this season, but Chris Conte is in no danger of losing his spot. Fans have had mixed reviews of Conte’s performance last year. He finished the season with 92 tackles, 1 Int and 3 FF. No matter what you think of Conte, you can’t say that wasn’t a solid season last year.

The Bucs drafted Jordan Whitehead in the 4th round this year, but he is a work in progress. At just 5’10” 198lbs, Whitehead is small for a Safety. In his last year at Pittsburgh, he garnered honorable mention ACC after only playing 9 games.

Look, we know Whitehead is talented. He could be an excellent Safety one day, but for now, even after 2 rough preseason games Conte will be the starter day 1.
