Bucs Place Running Back on IR

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed veteran running back Charles Sims on injured reserve. Sims will not count during the 53-man roster cuts coming in the next few weeks. Sims sustained a knee injury during last week’s preseason win over the Titans.

Sims, who played in all 16 games last season, rushed 21 times for 95 yards but saw the majority of play as a receiver, in which he was targeted 47 times, catching 35 for 249 yards, and a TD.

Although the loss is a tough one, the Bucs are still deep at running back, which consists of Peyton Barber, Jacquizz Rodgers, Ronald Jones II, Dare Ogunbowale, and Shaun Wilson. many of them who are still battling for a roster spot.
