Even though DT Vita Vea was back practicing this week on a limited basis, the team has ruled him out for Monday’s game. Even though it stings not to have your first round pick play on an already thin DT position, the Bucs are taking the conservative approach to make sure Vea is able to come back to 100% game day streangth. Remember he hasn’t taking any gameday (preseason or otherwise) so far and before last week he had not be on the practice field since July. Bringing him back slowly is the smart approach.
DT Beau Allen is also out against the Steelers with a foot injury after not practicing all week. Unfortunately this compounds the situation the Bucs are in personnel-wise at DT. They will have to lean a lot on Gholston and Clark this Monday.
