Bucs Defensive Backfield Is Cause For Concern

0

In the Bucs loss to the Steelers last night, the defensive front 7 played well. JPP, Gerald McCoy, and Vinny Curry all registered a sack. Linebackers Kwon Alexander and Lavonte David looked good as both used their incredible speed to make plays.

What is concerning for Bucs fans is the play of the defensive backfield during the first half. Ben Roethlisberger was on fire picking apart the Bucs lowly backfield. Not even the return of CB Brent Grimes was any benefit. Rookies Carlton Davis and MJ Stewart appeared completely over matched. Besides the INT by S Justin Evans this unit had a rough night trying to cover Antonio Brown and company. Davis and Stewart better shape up quick or GM Jason Licht will have them walk the plank.
The Bucs can’t win games giving up 300+ passing yards per game. Without much improvement it could be a long season. Here’s to hoping that they get things fixed fast.
