Bucs Offense: Monday Night Roller Coaster

Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Buccaneers offense came into Monday night with a lot of expectations. Some of those expectations were met, as Fitzpatrick has thrown for 400 plus yards in 3 consecutive games (1st one to do it by the way). He finished 30-50 with 3 touchdowns, but the interceptions he is known for unfortunately came out this evening.

The run game, which was non-existent (AGAIN), was met with Peyton Barber who finished with 8 carries for 33 yards. Behind him, Fitzpatrick, who carried it 5 times got 27 yards.

Mike Evans was a highlight reel this evening becoming the franchise leader for TD’s with 35! He also finished with 137 yards. Behind him, Chris Godwin who finished with 74 yards and a TD (let’s be honest, he should’ve had way more yards and at least one more TD). DeSean Jackson, who was the top receiver on the team coming into tonight, finished with 37 yards receiving. Cameron Brate also caught his first pass of the year tonight, which was the Bucs’ first TD of the game.

The Buccaneers will need to regroup this week as they prepare to head to Chicago and face another tough defense. By the way, Jameis Winston returns effective at midnight tonight. If you ask me, Ryan Fitzpatrick earned another start tonight. There are a number of issues offensively to work out, but one thing is for sure, this team will not quit (Even when the defense gives up 30 plus points a game).
