Falcons vs Steelers Game Points to Easy Victory for Tampa Next Sunday.

Did anyone happen to catch division rival Atlanta Falcons get destroyed by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday? The Falcons fell 1-4 after a 41-17 beat-down by the Steelers, and the Buccaneers face them this coming Sunday in Atlanta.

Should we be worried that the whipped Falcons’ team will come out in full attack mode like a wounded wild animal being cornered? Sure, you always have to take into account that a team whooped on like they were and how the Bucs were by the Bears will surely come out seeking revenge on the next opponent. However, if the Bucs vs Steelers and the Steelers vs Falcons games tell me anything, it’s that the Buccaneers have a very good chance of beating Atlanta on October 14.

The Steelers have shown the Buccaneers the way.

The Steelers sacked Matt Ryan 6 times and scored 4 out of 5 times in the red zone. They established the run game, and James Conner has elevated his game from rookie luck to a real threat. Conner had more rushing yards at 110 than the entire Falcons team combined. That’s how you win football games. Get pressure on the QB, limit targets, make them miss, keep Julio Jones under 80 yards, stop the running game, establish a running game and maintain it, then score in the red zone. Not as easy as it sounds, but it’s not as hard as one thinks.

The Steelers blew the Buccaneers out 30-3 in the first half of Monday Night Football a few weeks ago. As terrible as that was, the Bucs didn’t give up, and even when facing a comfortable yet stout Steelers’ defense, the Buccaneers came back 27-30 and shut them out in the second half. The Buccaneers almost performed a miracle. Maybe it was a Fitzmagic trick.

But the Falcons and Matty Ice could not get anything going despite going into the second half down 10-13. The Steelers ran away with the game, scoring 4 touchdowns to the Falcons one in the second half. Tampa has to put the Falcons in the same situation and maintain a stranglehold on them with our defense.

Jameis Winston is 2-1 in Atlanta; surely he can get it done on Sunday. Jameis’s return should breathe new life into the Buccaneers’ offense and possibly ignite the running game that we’ve been missing. Tampa has to put that debacle in Chicago behind them and invoke their innermost weeks 1-3 performances to walk away with a big win in Atlanta.
