Can The Buc’s Defense Find Any Consistency

0

The game is over, and the Bucs lost again. At the beginning the Bucs defense was its usual terrible self. Then came halftime, and the defense came out and actually played with some consistency.

The first half was rife with defensive struggles—so much so that by the end of the first half Falcons QB Matt Ryan was 20-24 with 250 yards and 2 TD passes. After the half was over the Bucs retreated to their locker room to regroup. When the 2nd half began the defense began to rally around each other. With each player feeding off the outstanding plays of the others, the 2nd half was a different story. Brent Grimes pretty much blanketed WR Julio Jones for the remainder of the game. LBs Kwon Alexander and Lavonte David both came up with big plays, each delivering several devastating hits.

Still, in the end the Buccaneers lost 34-29. It makes you think. Is this Bucs defense finally finding their chemistry? Will they begin to play like they have a purpose? Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until next Sunday for the answers to these questions. But, damn, they did look good in that 2nd half.
