NFL: Fantasy Football Week Ten Start ‘Em ‘n’ Sit ‘Em

0

Here we go, week ten of the NFL and fantasy season. Many fantasy leagues are entering the stretch run. The next couple of weeks are crunch time. I hope that you have been paying attention to our starts ‘n’ sits. In addition, have you been scouring the waiver wire week in and week out? If so, you should have some solid footing heading towards the playoffs. If not, there is still time but not much.

Here are your week ten starts ‘n’ sits.

Starts

QB

Nick Mullens – San Francisco 49ers

Mullens had one of the best debuts a rookie QB could have. He threw 3 TDs against the Oakland Raiders last Thursday. The Niners have another favorable matchup against the New York Giants in week 10. I would stream Mullens in a matchup play.

RB

Tevin Coleman – Atlanta Falcons

Coleman had an exceptional game last week against the Washington Redskins. The Redskins were the number two-ranked rush defense in the NFL, and Coleman shredded them. He has an excellent matchup against the Cleveland Browns in week 10. The Browns allow 5.4 yards per carry.

WR

Maurice Harris – Washington Redskins

Harris had a career game against the Atlanta Falcons last week. He had 10 receptions for 124 yards on 12 targets. He was the first Redskins receiver with 10 receptions in a game since 2014. Stay with him this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They are 30th against the pass.

TE

David Njoku – Cleveland Browns

Njoku has a very favorable matchup against the Atlanta Falcons this week. They currently are the 29th ranked pass defense in the NFL.  They are also allowing the 7th most FPPG to opposing TEs.

K

Robbie Gould – San Francisco 49ers

Gould has been anything but gold for most of the 2018 season. However, he is a good play in week 10. A game against the New York Giants on Monday night lends itself to some scoring. The Giants are averaging 13 FPPG to kickers and the most FG attempts in the league.

Defense

New York Jets

At this point in the season, I would play matchup defense. I would take any team that is playing either the Buffalo Bills or Oakland Raiders. This week we pick on the Bills by starting the New York Jets.

Sits

QB

Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys

Prescott got the kiss of death from Jerry Jones on Tuesday. Jones said they would begin contract extension talks. HA, HA, HA, HA. He is not franchise worthy. He is also not starter worthy in fantasy this week against the Philadelphia Eagles. Their defense has held some of the bigger QBs of the season under wraps.

RB

Kerryon Johnson – Detroit Lions

One of the hottest RBs of the season is a sit? Yes, against the tough Chicago Bears’ defense. In addition, he has seen his snap count decline to Theo Riddick – reason unknown. Because of that I would keep him down in week 10.

WR

Sammy Watkins – Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs’ offense has a good play against the Arizona Cardinals. However, Watkins is battling a foot injury that may keep him on the bench. Coupling that with the fact that only four WRs have finished in the top 15 against the Cards makes Sammy a good sit.

TE

Eric Ebron – Indianapolis Colts

Ebron was a hot play for several weeks. He seemed to be the favorite target of Andrew Luck during all the WR troubles. Nonetheless, with Jack Doyle having returned from injury, Ebron has seen his snaps decrease.

K

Randy Bullock – Cincinnati Bengals

Bullock has been one of the better fantasy kickers of the season, but the New Orleans Saints are stingy against FG kickers, having allowed only 10 conversions in the season.

Defense

Arizona Cardinals

This is the same as in our starts. Any team playing the Chiefs, Rams, or Saints are probably not worth starting. This week the Cardinals draw the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes and company should put up another 30 plus performance.

Bye Weeks: Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans

There you have your week 10 starts ‘n’ sits. Be sure to keep these in mind when making your waiver transactions and selecting your players for the week.
