The Buccaneers claimed cornerback De’Vante Harris from the Saints after he was waived back in mid-August. After earning his first start of the season last week against the Panthers, it seems he will get another shot at a start. Harris recorded eight tackles and three pass defends during the win over the Carolina Panthers. His play, plus injuries, will likely earn him another shot at starting.

The Saints waived Harris after poor preseason play that resulted in the 25-year old cornerback causing a ton of penalties. The Bucs quickly snagged him. Bucs head coach, Dirk Koetter, admits that Harris knows how to compete and does that very well and that he isn’t afraid to play tough against anyone.

If Harris gets the go-ahead to start this weekend, he will have his chance to show the Saints, why they made a mistake in letting him go. It will be no easy task for the former Saints cornerback to face Drew Brees and his assortment of talented receivers, but his familiarity with the team will be a tremendous help.

For the Saints, former Bucs corner, Josh Robinson, will also have the same opportunity.
