Full Physical Part Of Arians Interview Process

As of this evening the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have yet to announce their Head Coach for 2019, and have not entered into any sort of negotiations at this point. That said formal Cardinals Head Coach Bruce Arians remains the candidate rumored to be the top choice. Just a year removed from retiring as Head Coach in Arizona due to health concerns, he now finds himself as possibly the 12th coach of the Bucs at 66. Not without the Bucs having him do a full medical work up first though.

It has been reported via Jay Glazer on The Herd with Colin Cowherd saying,

“(The Bucs) put his doctor as part of the interview process,” Glazer said on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” radio show Monday. “They basically made him take a physical. He’s down there, go to the hospital, get a full physical. They’re talking to his doctor. I’ve never head of a doctor being part of the interview process. And he’s gone through some health stuff.”

It definitely is not a common process to put a head coach through vying for the top gig, but given his reasons for retiring and past medical history GM Jason Licht is making sure to do his due diligence.

No negative reports came out of the physical done at a local Tampa hospital. Which is encouraging, and it brings Tampa Bay one step closer in finishing its head coaching search.
