Earlier today former NYJ DC Kacy Rodgers was interviewed by Giants HC Pat Shurmur for a “senior defensive position as reported by Ian Rapoport. This adds a twist in to a struggle between the Buccaneers and Giants front offices for Rodgers services.

Rodgers who served as DC under Todd Bowles while he was the head coach for the Jets, was expected to follow Bowles to Tampa Bay as the defensive line coach. A move which unseated the then Bucs d-line coach Brenston Buckner. Who was also a coach under Arians in Arizona.

If the Giants do in fact offer Rodgers a “senior position” on the coaching staff, it may be too enticing of an offer to not take over a position coach offer on Arians new Bucs staff.
