Andraez (Greedy) Williams

Cornerback, RS Sophomore

6’1”, 182 lbs.

Overview: Greedy Williams is expected to make an immediate impact for the team he gets drafted by. He is expected by many to be the first defensive back drafted in 2019 and seems to be right on pace to become yet another Pro Bowl defensive back produced by LSU. If he has a great combine, he could end up being picked in the top five. If the Buccaneers plan on targeting him, they should do so in the middle of the first round. He would be a bargain if still available at that point in the draft, and the Bucs would acquire much-needed additional picks by trading down.

Pros: Great length at 6’1”, which is particularly important for a cornerback in the NFC South. Williams’ outstanding acceleration enables him to stick with Wide Receivers in man coverage. Furthermore, he possesses excellent ball-hawking skills and anticipates well where the ball is going to go. He had 6 interceptions in 2017. This number dropped to only two picks in 2018, which was also caused by the fact that quarterbacks avoided him due to his great coverage.

Cons: Lacks NFL frame. Is very light at 182 pounds. Needs to improve his pass run support abilities, especially as he sometimes seems unwilling to help out in this department. Needs to anchor better and work on his hand use.
