Apollos Take Commanders 37-29 to start 2-0

The Orlando Apollos (2-0) defeated the San Antonio Commanders (1-1) 37-29 to stay undefeated in the inaugural season of the Alliance of American Football.

The Apollos started slow falling into a 12-0 hole early, but rallied to trail by only 1 at the half.

A turnover early in the second half put the Apollos down by 12 halfway through the 3rd quarter. Orlando though pulled even at 29-29 with just under 8 minutes left in the game.
A pick six by Keith Reaser put the Apollos up 37-29 for good.

The Commanders respond though and drove all the way into the Apollos’ redzone, but the Orlando defense held strong forcing an incompletion on 4th down. Orlando gained a couple of key first downs and ran out the clock.
