When Two Heads Might Not Be Better Than One

Do you think becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for three consecutive 400 yard games is supposed to make you a lock for a roster spot the following year.  For all of the quarterback carousel in 2018, by the time the dust settled on the season it became apparent that the “Alabama Jamma”, Jameis Winston will be the gunslinger pitching shoes in 2019.   So what becomes of the 36yr old journeyman quarterback known simply as “the beard?

Bruce Arians knows what a two-headed quarterback monster could do to a locker room as was captured in a tweet today by Tampa Bay Times Buccaneer reporter Rick Stroud:

With the plethora of contracts to work on in these next few weeks, coupled with the draft just behind that, the Ryan Fitzpatrick contract situation might be a “back burner” issue.  Knowing Jameis Winston is a team player, one would think that having a experienced back up like ‘Fitz would be something he would have no problem with.  But one can only be sure that to remain a Buccaneer in 2019, Fitzpatrick would have to be doing so because he loves living in Tampa Bay, and sees opportunity in possibly competing for a title.  If money if the thing, the door is gonna swing.
