Late Thursday more players on the 2019 top 100 players were announced, and another Buccaneer made that list. That player was non-other than Jason Pierre-Paul.

This comes as no surprise to many. As Pierre-Paul was the first Buc able to notch double digit sacks since Simeon Rice. For those that are keeping count, it has been 12 seasons without a Buccaneers player achieving such a feat.
In 2018 he collected 12.5 sacks, 20 QB hits, and 58 combined tackles. While he looks to build on his 2018 momentum, those plans were derailed by a single-car accident involving Pierre-Paul earlier this year.
He ultimately suffered a fractured neck. For the time being though doctors have determined to let the injury heal on its own. Which could preserve a shot at him having playing time in 2019. If it does not heal as expected though, he could undergo season ending surgery. This would be a big blow to this defensive line’s sack leader. Currently he is on the Bucs active/NFI list.
