The kicking competition for the Buccaneers this training camp has been a tight one. Today rookie kicker Matt Gay put toe to leather.

Matt Gay was a 5th round selection by the Buccaneers in this years draft. The incumbent Cairo Santos has been impressive this far in training camp. Gay is known for his powerful leg as well as his accuracy, but today that accuracy failed him on his two longest kicks today.
Kicking battles aren’t exactly the sexiest of battles in training camp, but if you’ve been paying attention to the Buccaneers kicking situation for the last few years you know how important it is that they find a consistent kicker.
