Bucs/Cowboys: three to watch

The Buccaneers travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys tonight. The final preseason game is always a bit of a snooze fest. The starting lineups for these games are typically made up of guys who won’t be in the NFL come Monday. So you ask yourself why should you watch the game? Well first off, it’s football, but for some that may not be enough. So let me suggest a few guys to keep your eyes on. These guys are mostly “bubble players” but here are a few I’ll be watching.

Jordan Leggett (TE)

Claimed off waivers from the Jets, Legget had a 20 yard TD in last weeks game. Expect him to see significant playing time tonight looking to solidify a spot on the team.

Terry Beckner (DL)

Beckner was a 7th round pick by the Buccaneers in this years draft. He has seen limited playing time this preseason (46 snaps) but will see significant action tonight. Beckner was my pick as a sleeper to make the final 53. Tonight he will need an outstanding performance if he hopes to accomplish that.

Bobo Wilson (WR)

Wilson has been the guy that just can’t seem to take the next step. The speedy WR struggled early in his career adjusting to the NFL game. He has shown promise as a special teams player but really needs to make some plays from the receiving position. Wilson has a lot of raw talent, that talent needs to be showcased tonight against the Cowboys.

I understand this is preseason, I get it’s a meaningless game. What I also understand is the Buccaneers have to cut approximately 47 players shortly after this game. The three on this list are definitely on the bubble to make the final 53. These three players need to have good if not great games if they plan on making the team.
