Monte Kiffin Named to Buccaneers Ring of Honor

News broke on Friday that Monte Kiffin will be the 14th member inducted into the Buccaneers ring of honor. Kiffin served as the Buccaneers defensive coordinator for 13 seasons and helped build the dominate defense of the early 2000s. His use of the cover two, transformed into the “Tampa Two”, which is still utilized to this day.

Many franchise records were broken with Kiffin manning the helm in 2002. These include fewest points allowed, lowest passer rating and lowest completion percentage. Eight players earned a total of 36 pro-bowls and six were named to the all-pro team.

The official date of the ceremony is still not official, but we’ll know more information once the schedule is released in April.
