Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Assistant Coach Tests Positive For COVID-19

An assistant coach on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers staff has tested positive for COVID-19, per Adam Schefter. Two coaches other have been quarantined as part of the team’s protocol. Although the unnamed coach tested positive, they are asymptomatic.

The news comes a week after coaches were welcomed back to their training facilities. However, it is unknown whether the coach came in contact with anyone else at the facility. Also, this isn’t the first time an NFL player or team staff member has tested positive. Earlier this week, Dallas Cowboys’ running back Ezekiel Elliott tested positive for COVID-19.

The NFL has been reopening facilities and adjusting to the alternative way of life since May. This situation puts a damper on those efforts.
